“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” –Albert Einstein

Engaging in outdoor physical activity is an important way to connect our bodies, minds and spirits with nature. This becomes increasingly more difficult when we enter the season of winter. Unless you already engage in some kind of winter sport, exercise or activity, the cold and snow can feel daunting. This winter walking meditation provides a safe, accessible and meaningful way to connect to winter and personal health.

In this workshop we will explore Taoist philosophies about winter, focus on breathing techniques to generate inner heat, and practice a variety of Qigong (pronounced chi-gung) and Tai Chi exercises while walking through the serene trails of Wood Lake Nature Center.

This 90 minute, small group workshop is appropriate for all ages and abilities. Wear warm clothing and feel free to bring a walking stick or hiking poles.

Tickets: $30, available here. Participants should meet outside the Wood Lake Nature Center Interpretive Building along Lake Shore Drive, just off the main parking lot.
