Experience enveloping quiet. The Great Northern invites participants into one of the quietest places on Earth—the “anechoic chamber” at Orfield Laboratories, named the World’s Quietest Place by Guinness World Records in 2012. The room is designed to completely absorb reflections of sound or electromagnetic waves, offering a rare occurrence of the complete absence of outside noise. During 30-minute intervals, solo visitors or self-selected groups of up to four will adapt to silence, becoming the sound themselves with only their own body as a reference.
Please note: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test taken within the prior 72 hours is required to attend this event. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
