Come Visit The Great Northern & The Good Acre at Strib Unbound!
We’re teaming up to bring fun, games, and climate action to the outdoor activities at Theo Wirth Park Trailhead on Saturday, April 26th. Stop by our table to play a veggie guessing game (featuring locally grown produce) and test your knowledge about local food systems, water, and sustainability for a chance to win special prizes.
You’ll also have the chance to learn about our collaboration, The Good Acre’s CSA program, and The Great Northern’s Climate Action Guide.
Kick-off Strib Unbound with a community bike ride & poetry!
The Great Northern and Melanin in Motion are excited to invite you to join the Venture Bikes and Slow Roll Crew for a conversationally paced bike ride through North Minneapolis. We will share neighborhood history, information, and stories about this diverse community’s relationship to nature. We’re excited to have you join us on this tour through this beautiful and often overlooked neighborhood.
This is a very special Slow Roll led by the Melanin In Motion Poet Laureate Michael Kleber Diggs. Michael will share his work and his insights throughout the ride.
Time: Rollout is 8:00am
Location: 1221 Theodore Wirth Pkwy
Details: The Unbound Slow Roll will begin and end at The Trailhead. This event is free and open to all above 10 years of age. Burleys, tagalongs, and e-bikes are welcome. This is a no-drop ride with full support, all ability levels are welcome. We ask you to bring a tube that fits your bike. We will celebrate the opening of Strib UnBound at the Trailhead, and we invite you to stay after the ride and enjoy a community committed to making the outdoors welcoming to all.
