Mon, Jan 30, 12 pm CDT
Virtual

Famed Minnesota educator and explorer Will Steger joins forces with Norwegian explorer and author of Silence in The Age of Noise Erling Kagge for a reflective conversation on nature’s rhythms, silence, the human relationship to the environment, art, deep cold, and more.

Erling Kagge, polar explorer, mountaineer, publisher, and author, was thefirst to walk to the South Pole alone, first to walk to the North Pole unsupported, with Børge Ousland. The first to reach the North Pole, South Pole, and Summit of Everest on foot. He has sailed across the Atlantic and around Cape Horn to Antarctica, andcrossed New York City alpine style through its train, subway, water, and sewage tunnels, with Steve Duncan.

A formidable voice calling for understanding and the preservation of the Arctic, and the Earth, Will Steger is best known for his legendary polar explorations. He has traveled tens of thousands of miles by kayak and dogsled over 50 years, leading teams on some of the most significant polar expeditions in history.
