The Great Northern’s first-ever Sauna Village is a social and therapeutic experience hosted by The Market at Malcolm Yards in Minneapolis. Visitors can immerse themselves in sauna culture by interacting with various thermaculture traditions firsthand during the full run of the festival. The Village features unique saunas by Stokeyard Outfitters, Superior Saunas, Little Ember, Nomad Sauna, Sisu Nordic Sauna, Sauna Du Nord, Urban Wing Co., and Snowtrekker. During each session, visitors can experience multiple types of saunas, experimenting with heat, steam, aromatherapy, and the natural winter air. Before, during, or after the sessions, attendees are invited to relax fireside in the Room & Board vignettes under ambient lights to enjoy time with companions. Malcolm Yards will be open just feet away to serve you a specialty Great Northern cocktail or other festive libation or fare.
How to prepare: Plan on bringing easy-to-slip-on/off sandals or flip-flops, a towel, robe to wear to and from the saunas, and a water bottle to stay hydrated. Towels and sandals will also be available for purchase. Bathing suits are required. Please note that Malcolm Yards requires shoes to be worn indoors.
Liability & waiver: Each member of your party is required to complete a liability waiver before participating in the sauna. A link to the liability waiver will be emailed to the purchaser. The purchaser must send the link to each of their guests joining them in the sauna. Guests who do not complete the liability waiver in advance must complete it on site—your sauna experience may be delayed as a result.
Sauna participants must be 16+ years of age at the time of their sauna experience. Attendees under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Experience
Listen to your body; follow your bliss; and experiment with heat, steam, aromatherapy, and the natural winter air as you explore a variety of saunas over the course of 90 minutes. The Open Steam experience invites you to enjoy a healthy dose of winter wellness while celebrating community.

Private Group Experiences
Interact with thermaculture firsthand by booking a 90-minute group experience with a dedicated private sauna rental, plus full access to various Sauna Village collective amenities, including fire pits and cozy Room & Board vignettes. Stop into Malcolm Yards food hall (shoes required) before, during, or after your sauna experience for mouthwatering food or a specialty Great Northern cocktail. German Aufguss is a multi-sensory experience inside the sauna, incorporating core elements of heat, essential oils, and music.

Test your breath control and mental resilience as your guide takes you from the sauna's steamy heat to the chill of the cold plunge.
Sauna Village Takeover
Give your team a social and therapeutic experience this new year. The Great Northern Sauna Village at Malcom Yards is available for exclusive bookings of the entire village! Booking the village for a 90-minute slot will give your party (up to 100 people) sole access to a variety of 18 unique saunas, cold plunge tubs, fireside seating areas, and sauna experts to host your experience. Immerse yourselves in sauna culture by interacting with thermaculture first-hand during the festival’s run in deep winter.
