An innovator, creative brand leader, and disruptor in hair care for more than 25 years, Shane Wolf serves as President, AVEDA & Hair Care, working closely on The Estée Lauder Companies’ hair care strategy to shape and drive the category through fostering innovative breakthroughs.
At the helm of Aveda, the pioneering plant-powered hair care brand committed to global well-being, Shane is responsible for leading the brand’s growth strategy with a focus on local relevance and deepening consumer connection to Aveda’s vegan approach to high performance haircare, wellness and body care. Shane is passionate about the brand’s leadership in sustainability and aims to strengthen the articulation of Aveda’s unique equity and cutting-edge style to ignite excitement from artists and consumers globally. He believes Aveda is not just a product on a shelf; it’s a soul, a mission, a movement. “Aveda was never about chasing after something. We’re not focused on being the best; we strive to be the only,” he emphasized.
His profound passion for hair care and strong ties to the salon communities stem from his early career.“I started as a hairdresser, then became a salon owner, before moving into field sales. Then I met Horst Rechelbacher, Aveda’s founder, who truly changed my life,” Shane reflects. During his nearly five years in Global Marketing at Aveda, Shane collaborated closely with Horst, who inspired him to embrace visionary thinking while prioritizing wellness and environmental responsibility–values he holds dear to this day.
Shane rejoined The Estée Lauder Companies in 2024 following many years in hair care at L’Oréal, where most recently he held the position of Global President, US Brands, Professional Products Division. During his time at L’Oreal, Shane held GM positions spanning Pureology, Redken, Kerastase, Shu Uemura, and prior, he worked at Aveda and Wella. Shane also launched Seed Phytonutrients in partnership with L’Oréal, an indie-style, natural-based hair brand.
