Nick Bancks

Panelist

Nick Bancks is a Project Manager at Trust for Public Land, where he helps protect and restore some of Minnesota’s most cherished landscapes. Since joining TPL in 2022, he has led projects that balance conservation, community, and access, ensuring that people and nature thrive together. Nick also leads TPL’s Mentored Hunts program, which pairs experienced hunters with a diverse group of newcomers to build meaningful connections to the land through hands-on education and outdoor experience. Nick’s passion for conservation is rooted in his own experiences exploring Minnesota’s forests, prairies, and rivers. That early love of the outdoors grew into a lifelong commitment to protecting the places that shape communities and inspire belonging. Before joining TPL, he worked with the Minnesota Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy, and Pheasants Forever to protect thousands of acres of wildlife habitat and working lands.

With a background in natural resource science and management, Nick brings both technical expertise and a people-first approach to every project. He believes that lasting conservation happens when communities are part of the process and when access to nature is seen as a shared benefit for all.
