Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Great Northern Sauna Village located?

The Great Northern Sauna Village has moved to our festival home on St. Anthony Main. It is located in the courtyard of the Riverplace building, 1 SE Main St #200.

Do I need a festival pass to access the Sauna Village?

No — a Sauna Village ticket grants access to the sauna area only, and you do not need a festival pass to purchase or enjoy it.

However, a Festival Pass is required to enter many areas on our festival grounds and experience the full lineup of festival events, performances, and activities.

Interested in exploring the festival grounds after your session? Grab the Sauna + Saturday All Access Pass or the Festival Supporter Pass. You’ll get it all — festival entry, Sauna Village access, drink tickets, and more, its the easiest way to make the most of your festival weekend.

I’ve purchased a Sauna + Festival Pass bundle, how do I book my sauna session?

Guests who purchase a sauna ticket or pass bundle will receive an email with booking instructions 3–5 business days after purchase directly from Superior Sauna and Steam. To reserve your sauna session in advance, please complete your purchase by January 15.

Purchases made after January 15 will include a Sauna Village voucher, which can be picked up with your festival wristbands on-site. Vouchers can be redeemed at the Sauna Village for any Open Steam Sesssion, with sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What should I bring for my sauna session?

Bathing suit or athletic wear (ie. sports bra, shorts and/or pants)

– Towels are recommended (and available for purchase or rental), but we provide fresh water and all necessary cool-down equipment for your use.

Are there changing/locker rooms on-site?

Superior Saunas provides private unisex changing tents for guests to change before and after their sauna experience.

Lockers and bins with provided locks and keys are available for guest use. They’re large enough for personal items like bags, shoes, and phones. You can access your locker anytime during your visit.

What are the age requirements for sauna access?

Sauna participants must be 13+ years of age at the time of their sauna experience. Attendees under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents are welcome to bring children ages 5-13 during Family Day Steam Sessions. A list of family-friendly sauna programming will be released shortly.

Please note, while youth 12 and under enter our festival grounds for free and family day is open to the public, a paid Sauna Village ticket is still required for Sauna Village sessions.

Accessibility at The Great Northern Sauna Village

The saunas available for Superior Sauna Events & Experiences are not wheelchair accessible. If you or someone in your group requires greater accessibility, please call or email (612)-986-2397 or events@superiorsaunas.com ahead of time to discuss how we can accommodate your visit.

Please note that the cobblestone street on Saint Anthony Main may have uneven surfaces that could present challenges for individuals with mobility concerns.
